Sam* and Charlotte* started working for us in July 2019. For a year, they watched us manage our fields and handle time and co-workers differently than other business owners. Then came 2020. In March 2020, Covid quarantines prevented our team from putting our eyes on our fields for about two months. Nevertheless, our team did our best to continue encouraging communication among our team and management of our fields throughout the enforced time away.
As soon as we could get on the fields again, Sam went with our field manager to do an installation. During the drive, he unloaded a plethora of questions about all that was happening related to Covid and the future. Hearing answers that continually pointed to Jesus, Sam concluded that either his religion was correct, or Jesus was right, but both couldn’t be true.
In the fall, the two men again traveled together to a worksite. As before, Sam was full of questions, which started as soon as the key turned in the ignition. So, they decided to do some comparative religious studies. Our field manager invited a local believer friend, and they went to the “smart” local religious leader of Sam’s faith to talk and debate technical points between the two religions.
Sam felt deterred from accepting Christ because of the local belief that bad things will happen if you make the local god unhappy. As Sam was considering changing religions, his father developed a brain tumor. Thankfully, the life-saving operation was successful, but Sam decided to follow hard after the local religion to atone for asking questions about another faith.
We praise God that he has grown tired of the pursuit and is asking religious questions again. Please pray for Sam and his wife, Charlotte. Ask specifically for Jesus to reveal Himself as the Way, the Truth and the Life and the only way to a saving relationship with God the Father.
In the past two years, our team has seen these results from our sod grass farm project:
- An increase in the average monthly opportunities to share the gospel
- An increase in average monthly evangelism
- More engagement with people and businesses who want to make their local city/home a better place.
- An increase of sod grass fields. We are now in three villages. (One is in a UUPG area!)
- Currently growing two types of Bermuda grass and one kind of Bluegrass.
We’ve been asked to add some crops beyond grass, including various berries, and God has been so faithful to send us the knowledge, help and resources we needed as we have needed it! He has heard your prayers and intercessions for us. Thank you!!! We have planted a few fields of blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, which leads to more opportunities to glorify God’s name amongst more people.
Team prayer requests
- Pray that we have daily chances to share the good news, eyes to see the opportunities and courage to speak.
- Ask God to establish two healthy churches in our area.
- Ask God to raise up four local believers whom we can discipled and develop into leaders.
