About This Project
As the crises and struggles in Syria and Iraq continue, the needs of displaced Syrians and Iraqis become more urgent. Currently, the most significant felt-need of Syrian and Iraqi families is a lack of education for their children. This issue offers an unprecedented opportunity to reach families with the gospel. Tens of thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes and even country because of the massive destruction from civil wars, terrorism, and political corruption, natural disaster, and instability. There are limited schools for displaced and refugee children, and parents fear their children will have no future without an education. Your gift will ensure these children receive the supplemental education that they desperately need and desire. It will also enable the families to hear the good news and experience the love of Jesus Christ as we follow up with these families in their homes. In addition, your support will provide school supplies, materials, meals, building rent and utilities, transportation, and salaries for teachers and bus drivers.
Along with education, students receive seasonal clothing, and families benefit from food aid and winter aid when extra blankets and heat are needed. Volunteers can help train teachers and work with the educational programs. Counselors for children and their families are also urgently needed. Most of the children suffer from degrees of PTSD and need to talk to a native-Arabic speaker trained in these issues.
This ministry opportunity protects childhood, fights ignorance, and provides children with essential life skills needed not only for their futures but also to rebuild Syria and Iraq. In addition, an education approach helps meet the physical and the spiritual needs of everyone in a refugee and displaced family. Join us in meeting these critical needs and sharing the love of Christ tangibly during this unprecedented window of spiritual openness.
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
Most children in Syria have experienced things no child should ever have to experience. Born since the war began, they have grown up facing constant economic challenges and security threats. They have never known a time without the deafening sounds and rumblings of war.
Amid this harsh reality, many children live with constant fear and loss, unable to trust anyone around them. Those from minority groups are particularly persecuted.
But you are stepping into that anxiety and mistrust to offer them hope!
While many have lost all faith in God, we know that God hears their hurts and offers them healing and salvation.
Because of your generosity to this project, the center opens its doors to the most vulnerable. Here, they find a safe, hope-filled, comfortable environment, where families see the love of Jesus.
These families interact with caring adults, who offer them love and help them address their most basic needs. In this environment, children learn to trust while learning values from Scripture.
Thank you for joining us in showing Syrian children the love of Christ. Your faithful giving and prayers enable us to continue meeting needs and sharing Jesus.

We are deeply grateful for the prayers and gifts of people like you, who co-labor with us in reaching the lost and offering them hope.
Nadir* sat in the corner, clutching a blanket as tears rolled down his young cheeks. Fear and anxiety hovered over Nadir like a rain cloud.
In this place of overwhelming fear, you met this child with tenderness, compassion, and kindness. Because you gave, Nadir has a school and teachers who care deeply for him.
Nadir’s anxiety is extreme, even among Syrian kids who have experienced the horrific sights, sounds, and smells of war. All his teachers knew to do was pray for Nadir.
You have probably been there, too, when the only prayer you know to say is, “Lord, help!” That’s what Nadir’s teachers prayed.
As they prayed, God began to touch Nadir’s heart. He became more open to activities with other children when he knew a teacher was nearby.
With his mother’s permission, his teacher shared with him about fear and how God calms our hearts because He is the Good Shepherd who watches over His sheep.
They read Psalm 23, and Nadir asked Sara to pray for him.
Nadir knows his school is a safe place of structure, love, and warmth—a place you gave him.
Thank you for giving and praying. You gave Nadir a school with teachers who care about his wellbeing. Through your prayers, you bring Nadir and countless others to our Father and intercede for them. God answered your prayers!
Please continue partnering with us in prayer:
Your prayers and gifts bring the love and peace of Christ to families like Nadir’s every single day. Thank you for making a difference!

Thank you so much for your generosity to this ministry and the Syrian and Iraqi people God calls us to reach with the gospel. Your prayers and sacrificial giving are bringing these children the supplemental education that they desperately need and desire and enabling these families to hear the good news and experience the love of Jesus Christ.
Opportunities Abound. The Children’s Center has been full of lots of excitement this summer. The program moved into a new building specifically set up for the children earlier this year. This building offers the kids a consistent place to come each week where they know they are loved and valued. Our team, loving on and teaching the children, work hard each week to present lessons and fun activities that teach letters and numbers. However, the children are not only learning the basics they need for school but also have opportunities to hear Truth from their teachers. The team sings songs about God and teaches stories about who He is. Because of your generosity, these children learn, grow, and experience love. In addition, you are reaching into these children’s homes as the staff invests in the parents by visiting each family home.
Reaching Beyond Children. Our team is building relationships within the community and is respected by the whole neighborhood because of their investment in families. We also engage various volunteers from the U.S. who have a passion for helping children in this region. American teams visit, spend time with, and teach the children. We are grateful for the support of faithful partners who make this program successful.

Thank you for your generosity and prayers. Your sacrificial gifts and intercession are truly transforming lives as we partner together to solve the world’s greatest problem, lostness.
Greetings from the Schools for Syrian Refugee Children team!
Your partnership in this project allows us unprecedented access to the lives of displaced Iraqis and Syrians. Your gifts are meeting the needs of countless individuals and families who have faced incredible hardships, many of whom are uncertain of the source of their next meal. In addition, your generosity allows us access to these homes where the Lord has used us to share His good news with the majority of these families. Even though there are still so many needs in the displaced community, many have now heard of the hope and peace offered in Jesus Christ.
Today, because of your prayers and support, we have the blessing of discipling many new believers who previously had not heard of the salvation Christ offers. We have the joy of seeing them labor with us for the sake of the gospel. Additionally, we are working with many individuals and families who desire to hear and know more about following Christ.
Please join us in prayer:
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and partnership! Your prayer and gifts are truly making a difference through this project! Please prayerfully consider making another gift to support this ministry in 2023.
Providing medical care, mental health programs, food bags, and education for displaced children has significantly impacted the individuals affected by the ongoing conflicts and difficulties in Syria, Iraq, and surrounding countries. These relief efforts have given individuals who haven’t been able to return to their homes for years a renewed sense of dignity and purpose that was abruptly snatched during violent conflicts and displacements. Thank you for your generosity in providing these items for so many who are hurting and vulnerable. Though we wish these atrocities had not happened, many desperate Syrians are now open to hearing about the love of a God who provides for them this way.

God is using your faithfulness to open more doors for the gospel. We have gained access to new communities through the food, medical, and mobility equipment distributions. Additionally, community leaders have expressed a desire for mental health programs, children’s education, and community development projects to improve their people’s livelihoods. These projects meet the people’s short-and-long-term needs and allow us into the surrounding communities. The relationships we have established give us the freedom to share the gospel and begin discipling those interested in knowing more or who have put their faith in Christ.
Thank you for coming alongside us in this work. Your prayers and gifts are truly impacting lives, and we ask you prayerfully to consider making another gift so the work can continue to bear fruit. We’re glad you are part of our global team!

Many people in the Bible were doing ordinary, everyday things when God called them to serve Him in a special way. Is God calling you? Could He be leading you to serve Him among the peoples of Northern Africa and the Middle East? View the video.
