Asian Pacific Rim Peoples
Yangon, Myanmar

(yan-GONG) - In the last two years, there has been a general sense of hopelessness in Yangon. Many have struggled to feed their families as the price of food has increased. Opportunities for education and good jobs have decreased significantly, leaving many people discouraged and depressed about the future. Many have even lost hope in their Buddhist faith. In the midst of the darkness, God is at work changing hearts. Pray that unbelievers will be open to the truth of the gospel. Ask that many would experience hope and joy through a relationship with Christ.

Windhoek, Namibia

(VIN-took) - On June 10, a local church and IMB missionaries will host their annual One-Day Youth Camp, which will bring in many children from different people groups. It will be a day of concentrated worship in music and in Bible teachings, but it will also be filled with games, dances, conversations, and a lot of food. Many people financially sponsor about half of the youth who will attend because of the tremendous impact that this day has had on the youth over the years. Please ask God for His harvest to come to the youth who will attend this camp. Pray for His protection over the decisions the youth will make to follow Jesus, and ask for lives to be forever changed into being faithful followers of Jesus.

South Asians in Africa

Workers covet your intercession for some upcoming trainings: "Please pray for a worker in the south who is trying to set up a possible training. He connected with a church there and is working together with them to set up a training. Pray that the church members will have a passion for the lost around them. Ask that the church will raise up leaders who will be disciple makers; may they make disciples and live out being Jesus' hands and feet. Please also pray for more chaplaincy trainings that will take place in and out of town. We want to see hospitals in the city filled with God's people praying. We want the sick people to hear the gospel one more time before they exit life. Pray for the chaplains (many of whom also pastor a church) who are planning to have a training in their churches on how to reach Muslims and Hindus in their community. Ask that their churches will 'catch the vision' and see the harvest around them and start working. Pray that the evil one will not discourage them and that many laborers for the harvest will come out of this training."

Seville, Spain

(suh-VILL) - "In mid-June, a team of university students will be coming to Seville to help with outreach and evangelism. University students in Seville are still in classes in June and will have their exams in late June or early July. The students coming from the US will help us do an evangelism push and meet new students before they take their exams. Pray for this team that is coming. Pray for their spiritual and physical protection. Also, pray that we will be able to talk with the students and that they will hear the gospel and respond in faith to the message."

North Africans in City of Broken Colors, Europe

Saida, a North African woman who lives in Europe, is exhausted as she faces multiple health issues, a recent separation from her husband, and a young son who is struggling psychologically. She recently shared her fears and concerns with a friend who is a believer. Of all the challenges she is facing, caring for her son is causing the most pain, and she is searching for answers. Consider the ways that Jesus cared for concerned parents in the Gospels: healing children, raising them from the dead, and casting out demons. Pray that this woman will encounter Jesus through the witness of her believing friends, and pray that in Him, she will find hope for herself and for her son.

Niamey, Niger

(NEE-ah-may) - The Niamey Urban Team is excited to welcome new missionary partners from Asia this month! They write: "Please pray for Paul and Nancy as they arrive in Niamey to begin a two-year commitment. Lift them them up as they adjust to a new culture and language. Ask that they will have the wisdom needed to discern how God wants them to plug into ministry. Pray for our team as we work together to reach the people of Niamey."

Muslims of Northeast India

Pray today for the churches throughout Northeast India that are made up of Muslim-background believers. As many of these churches are young, petition for perseverance in their faith in Christ and in teaching the true gospel. Pray that these churches will be lights of the gospel in their communities, inviting others to come and see the goodness and glory of Jesus. Ask for endurance as they face community opposition and persecution.

Global Missionary Partners, Asia-Pacific Rim

Praise the Lord for answering our prayer for Leah, a Global Missionary Partner (GMP) from the Philippines. Leah was required to exit her country of service on a regular basis so that she could renew her short-term business visa and permission to stay in the country. These trips disrupted her ministry, her language study, and her business (that helps provide funds for her to live there). Recently, her business visa was reviewed and stamped so that she can stay long-term! This is an answer to much prayer, as she no longer needs to take time and money for these trips. Visa status is a common prayer concern among GMPs. Each passport country and service country combination has different requirements. Thank God for this answer to prayer for Leah. Please pray for other GMPs who are waiting for visas to enter countries. Pray for GMPs who are already serving in their countries of service but are requesting long-term stays. "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:4,6 ESV).

Cross-Cultural Missions, East Asia

Have you ever read the Bible and wondered, "how does this apply to my life?" East Asian believers do too! This month, pray as they gather to study the book of Ephesians together in order to better understand who God is and how the gospel impacts their speech, attitudes, work ethic, marriages, parenting, and relationships with others.

An unexpected pregnancy can be challenging, especially in the Starfruit Village. Expectant mothers may want to know what is happening with their pregnancies, but adequate equipment like ultrasound machines is far away. Through the support of stateside partners like you, the Eternal Peace Clinic wants to be an advocate for life. Lord-willing, they will be able to add an ultrasound machine soon to provide a view into the new life growing inside the mother. The staff plans to offer free pre-natal checkups and personal spiritual counseling to unwed expectant mothers. Mothers needing refuge until their babies are born can go to a partnering pregnancy resource center and shelter. The team at the Eternal Peace Clinic is looking for new ways to engage another segment of the population in need. Please pray for a successful installation of the machine, which can also be portable for home visits. Once the machine is active, pray that expectant mothers and their families will choose to have their pre-natal check-ups at the Eternal Peace Clinic and that they will hear a witness about Jesus who gives peace in all challenges.
