(foo-LAH-nee) – The Western Niger Fulani Team writes: “Last month, you were asked to pray for Fulani believers in a rural area where extremists of another religion had imposed difficult conditions on people in the area. A missionary couple with another Great Commission Christian organization has begun providing teaching on suffering and translating the Psalms into the Fulani’s Fulfulde language. As one missionary was speaking to a Fulani evangelist over the phone, he began to share Psalm 27:1 (ESV): ‘The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?’ The Fulani evangelist boldly and confidently declared, ‘No one!’ Tears came to the eyes of our missionary colleagues as they encouraged this evangelist. Please pray for Fulani believers to be encouraged and strengthened during this very difficult time. Ask for them to hold fast to their faith. Pray for opportunities to share about the hope they have in Jesus despite their suffering.”
