“I can’t study the Bible anymore. My grandmother has asked me not to.” Unfortunately, these are the words spoken by many who taste and see the hope they can have, but whose desire to learn more is choked by the fear of family disowning them. Florence lives in a neighborhood where every house around her is the home of extended family members. Her grandmother is the matron of the family, and all respect her. She has the power to keep you in, or kick you out. To lose family is to lose home, community, and identity. Please pray for Florence and so many others like her, asking that the hope of Christ will surpass any earthly treasure. Pray for the grandmothers and grandfathers, asking that they, too, will give their hearts to the Lord. Pray that entire households will come to know Him.
