Robert Michael “Mike” Kinsey, an International Mission Board missionary emeritus who shared the gospel in East Asia, died June 29, 2023, in Russellville, Arkansas. He was 80.

Mike was born April 6, 1943, in Houston, Texas, to the late Lee Roy and Mary Velma Burrough Kinsey. He received the Bachelor of Science from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Master of Religious Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, Louisiana.

He married Winnie Ellen Wing on Nov. 26, 1965, after they met in college. He served in the ministry for 33 years in various churches in Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. He always felt the pull toward missions and a heart for internationals, dating back to his time as a boy as a Royal Ambassador (RA).

In 1999, the International Mission Board appointed Mike and Winnie missionaries to East Asia. They served for 12 years. Their son, Brad, is also a former IMB missionary.

Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Winnie.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Billyard; son Brad (Amy) Kinsey; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service was held July 3, at First Baptist Church, Russellville, Arkansas, with burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
