No, you do not have to be a member of a Southern Baptist church to serve as a student missionary with IMB. We do seek students who are like-minded with Southern Baptists in major doctrines and are committed to the Great Commission. We believe that your church membership is very important; churches have been given the Great Commission and the assignment to send missionaries. Be aware that some of our opportunities (Hands On, Fusion) provide a partial scholarship for Southern Baptist students toward trip costs from funds provided by Southern Baptist churches.
