About This Project
Africa is on the rise! The history of Christian missions, rising birth rates, and the African church’s phenomenal growth put Africa on the course to becoming the largest Christian continent in the world. The African church is zealous and vibrant with a heart for going to the nations, and they are requesting training to become effective, long-term missionaries among unreached peoples globally.
Your gift will expand and sustain a missionary training center in Nairobi, Kenya, to train African Christians as international missionaries. New buildings are needed to house missionary candidates and their families, and older buildings need additional furnishings. In addition, IMB missionaries are designing Missionary Task training to equip African Christians to effectively share the gospel while living in a new culture, learning a new language, and planting churches in a new cultural context. Africans can live and serve in many places around the world that are inaccessible to IMB missionaries. Equipping them to make Jesus known among the nations is vital to spreading the gospel to the last unreached peoples on earth.
Beyond the centralized training center, IMB missionaries and African Baptist leaders will train church congregations across the continent to become missionary-sending churches. Then, as spiritually healthy churches, they will cast the vision to future generations to embrace God’s global mission. All these training efforts need ongoing financial support.
IMB leaders in Sub-Saharan Africa agree that the Lead Global Training Center and the decentralized, church-based trainings “provide the opportunity for us to invest in the next generation of sending missionaries to the ends of the earth.” Give today to catalyze the global spread of the gospel by developing the Lead Global Training Center for African international missionaries!
