Description

A semester long internship for those interested in university ministry, church planting, and/or special needs ministries.

As an intern, you will be working in a variety of ministries in Transylvania. The local team will do their best to match your gifts and abilities to the needs of local partners. You will be helping to lay a foundation for university outreach at the University of Transylvania through campus evangelism and events. Interns will help create and lead outreach events for university students. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a local partner organization to conduct young adult and adult disability ministries. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to join the local team in village ministry and house church planting.

Through your time here, we hope to create new groups and expand existing groups, especially for university students. Interns should be team players and self-starters. Interns should be comfortable sharing the gospel in a university setting and be willing to teach bible stories to various groups. Interns will work together and alongside the local team and national partners.

You will be considered a key part of our local team and will be welcomed into our team community! Interns can expect to see the local team multiple days a week. Our team will do a weekly bible study for interns focused on the Core Missionary Task (CMT).

Other Requirements

Residency – An opportunity to serve on mission for one or two semesters while being mentored by an IMB field missionary. Active members of Southern Baptist churches receive a subsidy, which includes travel to/from Orientation/Debrief at ILC, room and board at Orientation/Debrief, travel to/from the field and emergency insurance. There is no subsidy for applicants who are not members of a Southern Baptist Church. All monies raised or donated in excess of the stated cost of this particular Residency trip will be used to offset the additional, subsidized field cost expenditure for the student. These monies may also be used to supplement the broader cost of ministry related to the Residency program, in general. Application deadlines: Fall Residency trips: deadline to apply is May 1. Spring Residency trips: deadline to apply is October 1.
