(WEE-wah) - "'Are you married to Jesus?' one woman asked her sister last month. Our Valledupar Team had shared the story of the last supper and the meaning of the Lord's Supper. Jesus said, 'This is My blood of the new covenant' (Mark 14:24 NKJV). 'What is a covenant?' they asked, so we explained it using the example of marriage. This new covenant is between us and Jesus; it's one where He promises to always be faithful, where He loves us so much that He laid down His life for us. It's also one that requires our trust in Him, our love for Him, and our need to go to Him to ask forgiveness when we are unfaithful. So she asked, 'Are you married to Jesus?' Her sister replied that she didn't think she was yet. Was she ready for that commitment? Could she keep her promise once she made it? And yet at that last supper, there was Jesus, knowing that the disciples weren't ready, that they'd doubt, that they'd deny Him, that their spirit was willing but their flesh was weak. And yet He said to drink because He would shed His blood for them. Will you pray for these two mountain sisters?"

(ty-muh-LAY) - "After hearing a challenge about the need to grow up in Christ and give away the good news to those around them, a local body of believers wants to partner with our team to reach the lost in southernmost Thailand. Praise God for this small group of believers for being strong and courageous to engage the Thai-Malay with the gospel."

People by the Water, Southern Africa

The People by the Water live in a tropical paradise that is spiritually dark. Pray that God's light will shine brightly on these multi-cultural and multi-religion people through the witness of the few Christians who live among them. Pray for God's Holy Spirit to move over the people and draw them to Himself. May they declare, "The LORD reigns! Let the earth rejoice; let the many coasts and islands be glad" (Psalm 97:1 CSB).

The Zenaga people are a small Berber population who live in Mauritania, a desert land along the western coast of North Africa. Their language, Hassaniyya, is becoming less known among the young people and is spoken primarily among the middle-aged and the elderly. The Zenaga people like to be known as the Amazigh, meaning "free men," a term they prefer over Berber. Freedom continues to be a core value and is of great importance to the people. They long for freedom. "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 ESV). Pray for the Zenaga people to find freedom and rest in Christ. There are few, if any, believers among them. Pray for them to have dreams and visions of Jesus and to meet believers who can share the gospel with them. Pray for the salvation of the Zenaga people.

There is a beautiful older woman, Fatima, who sits at her window every morning. A believer passes by with her young children and is greeted with a warm smile. Fatima is very thankful to see and give gifts to the believer's little ones. She and the believer can interact almost every day as the believer walks her children to the local bakery for their daily baguette. Fatima is a practicing Muslim, as her father taught her to be while growing up. One afternoon, the believer shared the gospel with her. After hearing the gospel, Fatima stated that she believes all religions are good but that Islam has the most truth. Fatima and the believer continue to talk about religion, food, and everyday life. The believer plans to invite her over for dinner. Please pray for an openness to hear more about the Bible. Pray for Fatima to have a specific revelation where she knows Jesus as her personal Savior, as stated in John 14:6 (ESV): "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

(ny-ROH-bee) - The Nairobi City Team writes: "Give thanks to God that when our tentmaking business team shared the gospel in an area of the city, three people came to faith! We then began discipleship with one of the women. Please continue to pray for us as we are intentional about building relationships with other businesses in the area."

(DEL-ee) - Daniel and Mathias, from a Hindi-language fellowship, are eager to take ownership of their role in the Great Commission! They are actively seeking to train others to share the good news. Please pray for these brothers as they grow in their knowledge of entry, evangelism, discipleship, healthy church formation, leadership development, and entrusting these things to others. Ask that they will learn how to include ways to reach Muslims in the trainings that they lead. Pray for a potential training to be accomplished among the youth of this fellowship, and ask that they will continue in their faithfulness to the gospel.

(van-COO-ver) - Recently, an evangelism training was done by the WestCoast Baptist Association in Vancouver. Believers gathered together to learn to tell their own story of coming to faith, as well as two different ways to share the gospel. Pray that this will bear much fruit as they share the gospel with family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, co-workers, etc. Pray that many will hear and understand the gospel and will follow Jesus. "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'" (Romans 10:14-15 ESV).

Coffee People of Southeast Asia

Students come from many far islands to attend college in a small city in Southeast Asia. Many of these young people are studying to become health professionals, like nurses and midwives. These students come from predominately Christian islands. Some are truly following the Lord, while others merely call themselves Christians. A local pastor has a heart to reach these students and disciple them to have a missional heart. Workers in the area share his vision to train them now and send them back out to their home islands. Please pray for God to make a way to reach these students. Pray that the enemy will not interfere with this endeavor and that their testimony will be instrumental in the islands hearing and following Jesus.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest" (Luke 10:2 ESV). Volunteer teams sent from churches in the United States are an answer to prayer and a life-giving blessing to the work among the countless lost people who are needing to hear the good news of Jesus! This month, there will be a sports outreach camp led by volunteer teams from two U.S. churches who are partnering together to see a Central Asian community reached with the love of Christ. Please pray for this sports outreach camp and the numerous other outreach opportunities happening this summer through teams from U.S. churches going abroad and joining the harvest fields. Please pray for those who will hear the gospel this summer to repent and believe and join the growing church among their people group.
