We have a three-phased, seven-step new missionary assessment process that includes the sending church, IMB staff, and missionary team leaders.
• The sending church takes the lead in the initial phase and helps determine readiness for missionary service.
• In phase two, IMB staff conducts a comprehensive assessment of the applicant in areas related to spiritual maturity, physical health, and emotional wellness.
• In the final phase, missionary team leaders coordinate a final field interview (via video) that focuses on helping determine the best fit for applicants and missionary teams in the areas of life, team, and job.
Approved applicants receive extensive cross-cultural training and are then deployed to serve on a missionary team.
