Missions
The Southern Baptist Convention exists for mission. We originally came together in order to cooperate as a coalition of churches to fund and send missionaries to take the gospel to unreached peoples and places around the world. That is why we continue to work together. Mission is in our DNA. In many ways, it makes us who we are.
But missions is not a simple topic of conversation. Particularly, when it comes to serving and training churches and partnering with them to send their own people into cross-cultural, international missions—the purview of the International Mission Board—the minutia are important and broad. So dialogue must be as robust and varied.
Here, you'll find a home for that conversation.
Missions as a whole is the endeavor to glorify God by crossing cultures and language to make disciples of all nations. Everything that matters to that task is the scope of this site—from theology and missiology to arts and culture to the practicalities of crossing cultures and good missionary practice.
You can explore this page to find content that deals with overarching missions ideas and will lead into other content around the site that carries the conversation further.
